Take Care of Yourself!


What are you in a rush for ?!?

Forget the social media fantasy, your whole life does not need to be established by 15 years old. Take your time and trust Gods timing for you. This new race to success is just setting you up for failure into what your building and within yourself. Stress can kill and people over look that statement so much. Self care is a necessity and these influencers preach it but who is actually practicing it.


For those of you who are like me just constantly on the go you have a bad habit of not taking the time to truly take care of yourself. Your body will attack itself in so many ways until you take a pause and fix the issue. Your body and mind will always decline first but once your emotions and spirit are out of tune. RED FLAG. Its a complete out of body experience and no matter how you will try to explain it no one can really understand. To be truthful its because its not for them to understand its your obstacle to overcome alone. The only way to get back to yourself is to do it by yourself. This is why self care is so important, its a deeper level of connection spiritually.


Self Care is completed in four categories. Emotional (heart) , Physical (body), psychological (mind) and Spiritual (spirit). The goal is to find things to practice all four naturally but at least start with one. The fact that your even practicing at all proves you want better and will do better.

I actually had a Self care aka "Me" day this past weekend. I honestly get so excited for me days, sometimes you just want a break from everyone and everything! It’s a day to get rid of any negative energy from around me , gain my sanity back and appreciate myself. Most times its my day to be alone running girly errands that make me feel good. Ladies you know exactly what i mean lol getting your Hair, Nails and Eyelashes done sometimes even a nice massage. But this past weekend it was a "Me" day needed of absolute nothing. First step of me creating the peace for my day is to tell everyone around me to not contact me at all.. respectfully. It is your day to reconnect with yourself do not allow any outside energy to disrupt it ! I then followed up with things i wasn't able to put much time and effort into during the week. Lastly I always end with me in the dark, candles lit around my room just writing in my journal. It helps me feel as if the emotions or energy that were bothering me can no longer affect me. Once I have written them onto the paper it is no longer my problem and I feel better instantly. You cannot carry things on your shoulders all the time you must find something to channel it into and leave it there. After having a successful self care day i literally feel as though everything is clear and im ready to power on with life. As if I've washed off any thing that has tried to latch onto me to distract me from succeeding.

Having a self care day doesn’t always include the spa or getting a massage or just out all day with activities. It’s a day for you to create/ cleanse with all things that bring you joy and peace. When we practice taking time to put ourselves first we are also practicing creating our best self. Also there's nothing wrong with enjoying your own company. Like my good sis Lauryn Hill said : "How you gon' win when you ain't right within?"


You only get one life so take your time to enjoy each second of it.

Especially during these troubling times be grateful you are allowed to wake up and see another day. Don’t forget to check out the mental health tab !
